At niallflynn.com, one of my main priorities is the privacy of my visitors. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that is collected and recorded by niallflynn.com and how I use it.

Personal Note – My Ethos on Privacy

I am an advocate of a free and open internet, I will not track you in any way that reveals your PII, I will not resell your data, any tools I use will be ethical and comply to EU and a common sense data protection ethos. If you send me your details as a potential client or you reply to a post on my blog, I will ensure I protect you and your personal information to the best of my ability and I will only use third parties that adhere to this ethos.

I am an active promoter and supporter of FightForTheFuture.org and I take my data responsibilities as a web developer and site owner very seriously. if you feel I am not please let me know, I welcome feedback and if you feel your data has been breached/infringed please contact me.

This site is currently being updated to comply fully with all up coming GDPR regulations (General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679). Web Hosting & Log Files

This website (niallflynn.com) follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

I use Spiral Hosting for all my web hosting needs, they are based in Belfast, Ireland and thier privacy poilicy can be viewed on their site:

I try to limit the use of cookies on my website, niallflynn.com currently uses a limited and ethical set of ‘cookies’. These cookies are used to store information including visitors’ preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users’ experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors’ browser type and/or other information.

You can choose to disable cookies through your individual browser options. To know more detailed information about cookie management with specific web browsers, it can be found at the browsers’ respective websites.

Third Party Privacy Policies”

This Privacy Policy does not apply to other advertisers or websites. Thus, we are advising you to consult the respective Privacy Policies of these third-party ad servers for more detailed information. It may include their practices and instructions about how to opt-out of certain options.

Third Party Tracking Currently On Site:

  • https://clicky.com/ – This is the web analytics software I use, which at the time of writing was attempting to comply with GDPR regulations.
  • Google Search Console – A meta tag and connection to GSC is placed on my site, it is not clear if cookies are presented by Google but data is for sure linked from their index with my site’s own data, Google claim this secure and where possible I try not to use their services, this is the only item from Google placed on my site.

This site is not intended for children or minors. Another part of my priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. I encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.

This website does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on my website, I strongly encourage you to contact me immediately and I will do my best to promptly remove such information from my records.
